RODERICK 'RICK' A. RIDEOUT
WAITE - Roderick "Ricky" Arthur Rideout, 54, died Sept. 14, 2003, at a Calais hospital after a cour-ageous battle with cancer. He was born April 3, 1949, in Waite, the son of Warren A. and Marcia C. (Wheeler) Rideout.
He graduated from Princeton High School, Class of 1967. He was a loving father and devoted husband. He spent the last few years of his life sharing his love of gospel music with friends and family both near and far. Rick's voice will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by many. He served his country in the U.S. Army with two tours of duty in Vietnam from 1968-1970. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 7409 in Mattawamkeag.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Terry (Ramsdell) Rideout; one daughter and special son-in-law, Heather and Gordon Robar of Upper Mills, New Brunswick, Canada; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn and Melvin Curtis of Richmond and Grace and Thomas Hiland of Princeton; four grandchildren, Danika and Darren Bell and Tisha and Ashlenne Robar of Upper Mills, N.B.; nieces, Jodi Hiland of Biddeford and Jocelyn Curtis of Richmond; nephews, John Hiland of Nashville, Tenn., Jerald Hiland of Antioch, Tenn. and Tyson Curtis of Auburn.
He was predeceased by his parents and two sons, Baby Rideout in 1972 and Shawn Rideout in 1976. To have the love of his daughter and grandchildren around him was a pleasure he cherished the most and held close to his heart.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003, at the Bethel Chapel in Talmadge, with Pastor Tom Smith officiating. A committal service to follow at Waite-Talmadge Cemetery. Those wishing may join the family in a celebration of Ricky's life at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Thomas Hiland at 57 West St. in Princeton immediately following the committal service.
