      On the 26th ult. at Amsterdam, the dowager Marchioness of S ligo, where she was expecting Sir William Scott from Switze rland, in order to return with him to England. Her ladyshi p was born on the 9th of December 1767, and was the younges t daughter and co-heiress of the late gallant Earl Howe. I n 1787 she was married to late Marquis of Sligo, by whom sh e had a son, the present Marquis. To her second husband, S ir Walter Scott, she was married about five-year since. He r ladyship was in the remainder to the English barony off H owe, now possessed by her elder sister, who married the Hon ourable Pen Ashton Curzon. Her ladyship is a woman of muc h literary accomplishment.
