      Text: Dr. Hartigan was a native of Limerick in Ireland. He was ed ucated at the Catholic University School and the Royal Coll ege of Surgeons in Ireland. He was admitted a Licentiate o f RCSI in 1876 and, under theterms of the Conjoint Degree , also, automatically, became a Licentiate of our College , which, at the time, was called the King and Queen'sColleg e of Physicians in Ireland - hence, LKQCPI.

      He went to Hong Kong where he was a physician to the Alic e Memorial Hospital and an examiner at the Medical Colleg e for Chinese. He hadthree papers published in the Journa l of Tropical Medicine. He returned to England on retireme nt and died at Oatlands, Weybridge on September 11th, 1936 , in his 85th year.
