    Per info from Carl Auld, his birth date was Feb 21, 1701/1702. According to Lambdin info which quotes a source of the St John's & St George's Parish registry show a date of January 9, 1701/1702. It's close but will leave the info from Carl Auld at this time 6/2/2000.

    Information from Col V L Auld, April 12, 2000 - He was paying taxes on 252 acres of Newport Glascoe in 1738. In 1744, he was paying taxes on 221.5 acres of Newport Glascoe. Taxes were paid in his name until his death and after his death by his widow.

    John's will made on April 20, 1765 (given in Will Book 34, folio 302, Land Record Office, Annapolis) leaves to his loving wife Mary - "my now dwelling plantation and land adjoining it, during her widowhood. Should she remarry, then the plantation to my son James Auld if he should appear to possess it, he now being absent. If he does not return, then it should go to my grandson John Auld, son of said James, after my wife's portion and debts are paid. The residue of personal estate to be divided equally among my children except my daughter Mary Hambleton deceased, whose portion is to go to her daughter Margaret Hambleton". (spelled Hamilton in Will) His wife Mary Auld was named executor.

    There is an inventory (Liber 91, Folio 38, Land Record Office, Annapolis) naming his relations and his sons Daniel, Edward and Philemon Auld as creditors. In the account (Liber 51, Folio 121-123) Mary pays the amount due Philemon and Daniel Auld, charges for feeding five people who attended the crops of tobacco, corn, and wheat that were in the ground when the deceased died, he dying in the month of July, 1766. His wife Mary lived until 1795.
