J.W. Finley of N. Bloomfield Died On Monday Joseph Wilson Finley, retired farmer whose home was south of New Bloomfield, died at 9:25 a.m. yesterday at Jefferson Barracks Hospital, St. Louis, where he had been a patient for 19 months. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Burial will be in Bull Cemetery, south of New Bloomfield. Masonic services will be held tonight at 7 o'clock at the Claypool Funeral Home, New Bloomfield, and military rites will be held at the graveside Wednesday.
Mr. Finley was born on February 17, 1874, at Holts Summit, son of David D. and Ellen Johnson Finley. He was married in 1900 to the former Cora Mae Fleming, and she died in 1948.
He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, and of New Bloomfield Lodge 60, A F. & A.M., having held membership in the Masonic organization for about 60 years.
Survivors include three sons, Frank Finley, Peoria, Ill., and Wilson and Sam Finley, both of New Bloomfield: two daughters, Mrs Ann Lutz, Peoria, and Mrs Rosalee Murphy, St. Louis: one brother, Logan Finley, New Bloomfield: nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren
