How interesting to get your email re Henry Hudson Williams. You gave me some info re him that I didn?t have, such as his name being William H. Williams on 1900 Chilton Census. This takes me way back in time, early 70s, when I visited Henry?s sisters, Nettie and Gertrude, in a neat little house on the main drag in Clanton. They were such delightful little ladies and I would give anything if I had written down all the stories they told me. One I do remember is that Gertrude was playing with one of her sisters (don?t remember which) in the barn where there was a lot of dry, shelled corn. The other sister stuffed corn in both of Gertrude?s ears and it rotted in there and left her deaf for life. But that didn?t slow Gertrude down or make her bitter. They were both sweet as they could be. I got most of my info on the John Henry Wms and Calista Roper family from these two sisters. Henry Hudson?s 1st wife was Rilla Alice Smith and I found this marriage record: Per AL Marriages 1809-1950, Hudson H. Williams married Miss Rilla Smith 23 Feb 1917 at the Elmore County, AL Courthouse. I have added this to Family Tree. But Nettie and Gertrude said his 2nd wife was Bettie Ruth Mims and I can?t find that marriage record. I am descended from the Mims of Chilton Co and I would bet Bettie was b. AL, not GA, but I could be wrong. Will check further into this. Thank you for writing me! I?m always happy to hear from other people, especially concerning our intertwining lines. I appreciate the info I didn?t have and will add it to my PAF.
