    Tuck ...

I found your pedigree post on the Rootsweb site. I am intrigued because of
similarities between our Wolf family history.

There is a tiny cemetery overlooking Lake Erie in Bay Village, Ohio, which is
just west of Cleveland. My ancestors link directly to John and Ann Wolf who
are buried there alongside her mother with a given name of "Philomena", who was
    born in 1760.

Here is a link to the cemetery transcription:

Rumor in the family is that they relocated to Ohio in the early 1800s from
"Virginia" although the states were far different in those days. At any rate,
the trail goes cold beyond that point, and I have never been able to make the
leap and connect to where they came from to Ohio.

I always thought growing up that my family was part of the wave of German
immigrants to the USA during the middle and late 1800s. I never for a moment
believed I could be a Son of the Revolution!

I do know there are many, many John, Georg, Ann etc in my family but of course
they were very common names in those days. I would enjoy hearing from you
about your research and if you have any ideas on where I can look next.

    best regards,
    Phillip Wolf

THE FOLLOWING BOOK orginally said that christina wolfe b. 1764 had ancestors
Mary Ann Aurand/Aurandt and John Wolfe, but now an Aurandt family Genealogist
suggested that possibly John Wolf might be brother of Christina Wolf. In any
case John Wolf now appears younger than Christina--therefore not her ancestor:
