a. Note:   In the History of Allegheny Co PA 1876, pages 166 - 167:
 Robert Willoughby owned the first tavern in McCandless Twp, which was then part of Pine Twp, located two miles north of Perryville. The story goes that the Sheriff came to arrest Robert for a minor offense. Robert left through the back door with the Sheriff giving chase on foot. Robert then circled around, stole the Sheriff's horse and left for parts unknown.
