Note: Obituary for Harold E. Cleary Harold E. “Hal” Cleary, 93, of Bristol, widower of Mary (Roeser) Cleary, died Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Bristol Hospital. Hal was born April 3, 1917 in Brooklyn, NY and was a son of the late Harold J. and Mary H. (Ball) Cleary. Growing up in New Rochelle, NY, he attended Holy Family Grammar School, Iona Prep School and was a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY. A Bristol resident since 1959, he was a member of St. Joseph Church and was a co-founder and officer of Altair Inc., Thomaston until his retirement in 1982. Mr. Cleary is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law: Timothy and Loretta Cleary of Philadelphia, PA, Paul and Kathleen Cleary of Puerto Rico, and The Rev. Christopher H. Cleary C.P. of Jamaica, New York.; a brother: William F. Cleary of Glenshaw, PA; a sister: Sister Miriam Cleary O.S.V.; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Edmund P. Cleary. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 9 AM from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Joseph Church, Bristol, for a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 AM. Burial in the family plot will be Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in Holy Mount Cemetery, East Chester, NY.
