a. Note:   Adam appears in a photo with his brother Bob taken in Feb 1928 in Ceylon. He worked on the railways for the tea plantations from the hills to the coastal ports.
 At some time A R Thomson in his younger years inserted a "p" into the Thom"p"son. He wrote a legal document, dated 13 March 1951, attesting to this fact and stating that the correct spelling should have been "Thomson". This impacted on son Walter as his birth was registered with a "p" and was causing difficulty with Canadian Immigration as Walter was spelling his name without the "p".
