a. Note:   Jimmy was a very considerate and able man. He won the Governor General's medal at college and, because it was 1939, he joined the air force instead of going on to Guelph to obtain a degree. He was a good husband and father, a knowledgeable dairy farmer, very active in his church (St. Paul's United in Sussex) and in the Kiwanis Club and contributed to the community in many ways. He loved playing golf when he had time in later years, he always had a wonderful vegetable garden and he was proud of his grandchildren.
  Death Notice: At the Kiwanis Nursing Home, on April 4, 1993, James MacDonald Thomson (Jim), formerly of Penobquis, husband of M. Winnifred Thomson (Conrad). He is also survived by two sons: Dr. David James Thomson (Maja-Lisa) of Murray Hill, New Jersey and Paul Conrad Thomson (Laura) of Brantford, Ontario and four grandchildren: Catherine, Erik, Isabel and Owen; two brothers, Tom Thomson (Madeleine) of Ottawa, Ontario and David Thomson (Margaret) of Zurich, Ontario; two sisters, Mary Starkey of Montreal, Quebec and Sara Johnson of Spruce Grove, Alberta.Predeceased by two brothers Ian and Andrew and one sister Helen Allnutt.
 Resting at Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex where the visiting hours will be on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place at St. Paul's United Church, Sussex on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Donations to the Alzheimer Society or charity of donor's choice would be appreciated. Royal Canadian Legion Branch No 20 will hold a memorial tribute on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
