Notes
a. Note:   When Ray was born, his family was living on Church Street in St. Catharines. Howard worked in a Reo truck factory that was located on St. Paul Street in St. Catharines. He had a gas station and a garage nearby where he did repairs. Ray remembers that during the depression his dad went to work for a while near Detroit and made $100 a week. Later he had a garage on Ontario Street (near Trafalgar) and he worked there until he had a serious heart attack. When the war started, he went back to work there. After the war, he would sit and dream up projects. One was a photographic enlarger. Ray, his son, would drop by every day after work during the winter and remove the large doughnut shaped clinker that would form in his furnace.
When Howard signed his father's death certificate in 1943, he was living at 99 Albert St., St. Catharines.
The inscription on Howard's and Edith's gravestone is as follows: "What we keep in memory is ours unchanged forever".
