a. Note:   The cemetery records note that Thomas died of heart disease.
  Thomas had a pocket watch which was made in Buffalo, NY and now belongs to his great-grandson Roy Smith. Roy remembers receiving it from an unknown relative when he was a young boy in the 1930s. Thomas might have received the watch from his son Henry who lived in Buffalo. Henry died in 1927 without any children so he did not present it to Roy. The unknown relative might have been Thomas' brother Joshua who immigrated to Canada also and settled in East York or one of Joshua's 2 sons John or William.
  After searching for a long time, the Orrett family was found in the 1881 Canadian census. The reason for the difficulty: the transcriber reading the original entry thought the family name was O'Neill! Thomas and Sarah and their 4 children were living on a farm in Grantham (District 145, Subdist B, Div 2, Page 8).
