Note: Laura grew wonderful gladiolas (they lived on the outskirts of Granby and had lots of land) and she would gather bunches and pack them in her big Cadillac and go off to sell them or give them away. She'd be wearing an old housedress and big gumboots! And in her house she had a wonderful collection of Royal Doulton figurines which, as a little girl, I just loved to look at.
