MAYNARD PASSES AFTER A LONG ILLNESS Preston Brooks Maynard, prominent and beloved citizen of Forsyth, passed away at his home Wednesday afternoon. He was 79 years of age and had been in feeble health for several years. During former years, Mr. Maynard had been one of the leading business men of this section, having been engaged in the banking, oil mill and fertilizer business as well as farming. He was a member of the Methodist Church and was a man of exemplary character, having all the traits of a Southern gentleman and winning the friendship of all who knew him. Surviving Mr. Maynard are his widow; one son, C. C. Maynard of Forsyth; four daughters, Mrs. F. N. Wilder and Mrs. J. E. Castleberry, both of Forsyth; Miss Annie Laurie Maynard of Atlanta and Mrs. Charles N. Parker of Asheville, N. C.; three brothers, Judge R. L. Maynard and Walter T. Maynard of Americus and W. W. Maynard of Macon; one sister, Mrs. J. N. Zellner of Forsyth, and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the residence Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o�clock, with Rev. T. R. Kendall, Jr., officiating, assisted by Rev. J. H. Clarke. Interment was in the Forsyth cemetery with the following nephews of Mr. Mr. Maynard as pallbearers; A. M. Zellner, P. B. Zellner, Lawson Maynard, E. W. Maynard, Robbert Reid and Mallory Rumble. Arrangements were in charge of Bramblett Funeral Home.
