Obituary for Zolliecoffer McCulloch Maynard - 12 Dec 1929 - Monroe Advertiser
ZOLLIE M. MAYNARD DIES IN GAINESVILLE
Mr. Zollie M. Maynard, 65, native of Monroe county and member of an old pioneer family, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. C. Butts, Gainesville, Sunday. The funeral was held in Forsyth at 3:00 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Forsyth Baptist church, where he held his membership.
Mr. Maynard had been in declining health for some time, and his death was not unexpected. He was at one time a leading warehouseman, handling the bulk of the cotton crop of this county.
He is survived by a son, Zollie L. Maynard, Orlando, Fla., and a daughter, Mrs. J. C. Butts, Gainesville. Also by four brothers, W. N. Maynard, Macon; R. L. and W. T. Maynard, of Americus, and P. B. Maynard of Forsyth; two sisters, Mrs. Geo. A. Zellner, and Mrs. J. N. Zellner, also of Forsyth. The funeral was conducted by Dr. A. Chamblee, president of the Bessie Tift college, and Rev. R. L. Bivins, of Macon, both former pastors of the Forsyth Baptist Church, and Rev. H. D. Warnock, pastor. Interment was in the Forsyth cemetery beside his wife, whose death preceded his several years ago.
