a. Note:   ounty, New York in 1880 to Los Angeles, California in 1930. In 1880 Jehiel (age 23) and Hattie (aged 19) with daughter Olive (aged 11/12 or 11 months) and brother-in-law William Millimine (aged 9 years). The 1900 census shows them in the City of Denver, Arapahoe County, Colorado where Jehiel R., Hattie M. (Dec 1868) (even though the month and dates of birth ar listed, they are dificult to read) and daughter Olive E. aged 20 (June 1879), a second daughter Josephine C. aged 18 (May 1882), a son Coral E. aged 15 (Mar 1885), all born in New York State and most likely Darien, Genesee County, also a boarder Mabel Brown aged 16 (Joly 1884) born in Illinois. N.B. It says Jehiel's parents birth place is Unknown and Hattie's parents were born in New York State. In the 1910 census, Jehiel and Hattie are found in Trout Lake, San Miguel County, Colorado a place that only enumerated 62 persons in that census, none of their children are shown living with them, only 3 boarders. Hattie (aged 49) is working as a cook in a boarding house and Jehiel (aged 53) is working in a mining operation as are all of their boarders. Two of their bosrders are listed as 'Nor-Sweadish' a Perry J. Nichols aged 34 and Olson Hildiny(?) aged 32. The third boarder has a familiar (and family) name, Henry Baker aged 59 born in West Virginia. Father born in Pennsylvania and mother in Maryland. (Baker is the name of Jehiel's Aunt Margaret's husband.) Also of note census says Hattie bore 4 children and only 3 are living. The 1920 census for Lockerby, San Juan County, Utah shows Jehiel (aged 63) working as a farmer and Hattie (59) working at home. With them are daughter Josephine Downing (aged 37), granddaughter Mae Downing (aged 12) born in Colorado, father in Ohio and mother born in New York and brother-in-law Charles Millimine (aged 48) born in New York as were both of his parents. As it said in the William Ward Genealogy, I found Jehiel (aged 73) and Hattie (aged 69) at 1572 West 63 St. City of Los Angeles, California, Jehiel as th proprietor of a retail furniture store and Hattie at home. With them are their son Coral E. (aged 25) working as a salesman in furniture store, daughter Josephine Wells (aged 47) and brother-in-law Charles Millimine (aged 61) no job listed.
