  Southport Visiter: Obituary: Mr. J. Blundell The funeral took place at Duke Street Cemetery on Saturday of Mr. John Blundell, of 6 Ribble Avenue, who died in hospital on June 7. The services in the chapel and at the graveside were conducted by the Rev. C. A. Clark, of Leyland Road Methodist Church. The chief mourners were: Mrs. Blundell (widow), Mr. G. Blundell and Mr. J. Blundell (sons), Mrs. M. Bos (daughter), Mrs E. Jacques (sister-in-law), Mr. R., Mr. J. and Mr. W. Blundell (brothers), Mrs. P. Blundell (sister-in-law). at the cemetery were: Mr. T. Wright, Mr. R. Simms (representing N.W.G.b., Liverpool Group), Mr. R. H. Hibbert, Mr. and Mrs. Bramdon, Mr. Guest. Floral tributes were sent by: his Wife and sons; Andre and Martin (grandsons); Margaret and Johan (daughter and son-in-law); Bob, Doris and Pam; Billy, Mavis and Linda; Jimmy, Kitty and family; Tom, Louie and family; Ethel, Masie, Marjory and Families; family Bos (Amsterdam); Mr. and Mrs. Sutton and Stanley; Helen, Derrick and Baby; Christine (Halsall); Mr. and Mrs. Hibbott*; Peter, Michael and Tony; Your Old Pal Ernie; Mr. and Mrs. P. Blundell and family; N.W.G.b., Liverpool Group; Mr. McAwley, Staff and Employees. Arrangements by L. Nutter and sons, 127a Manchester Road.
  * Mr. and Mrs. Hibbott were the former neigbours living accross the road when they lived at no.2 Larch street. Possibly it was this Ethel Hibbott born 11 July 1901 who died [Jun 1971 Southport 10f 1433] and may have been married to Robert Henry Hibbott born? [Jun 1907 Newtown 11b 144] [Jun 1940 Rochdale 8e 181] as Ethel Taylor? born [Sep 1901 Rochdale 8e 28].
  Lived at 57 Belvedere Rd Wallasey Cheshire (lodger) for 3 years during the war after volunteering as a police man (home guard?). Witnessed a boy dying at the beach after walking with his friend into a mine field. He tried to warn them before it happened.
