Note: Hollywood Cemetery Jackson Madison County Tennessee, USA Crossing the Dark River By Brenda Fielder Lexington Progress dated January 29,1909 Ida Morgan (The Lexington Progress,January 29,1909) Sad accident: Mrs.Ida Morgan, wife of our countryman, Tom Morgan was instantly killed at her home Monday afternoon. From the information furnished us, we construe that Mr.Morgan and others were cutting a tree in the yard and had tied ropes around the top of the tree in order to swing the fall from the house. Mrs.Morgan was assisting her husband in the work and when the tree fell, a limb struck Mrs. Morgan on the head, fracturing her skull and causing instant death. Mr.Morgan has been a friend of the Progress Force and we join his many friends and extending to him our heart felt sympathy in the loss of one so dear to him.
