John Cooke was a Mayflower passenger "young enough to be led ashore by his father's hand." He was the last surviving male of the Mayflower passengers.

families separated when MAFLOWER departed 1620, "Francis Cooke took along his son John, parting from his wife and three small daughters."
p.288: re 1642 sense of Indian problems, "In 1644 the town was divided into military companies to meet an emergency and Bradford took charge of a company which included Prence , Hanbury, Lee, Howland, John Cooke (whose father had died 1633), Phineas Pratt, Gregory Armstrong and John Winslow."

Volunter for Pequod War June 7, 1637. Last male Survivor of the Mayflower. Partner in the builfing of thr first vessel of the colony. It was a 40 ton leviathian of the deep. He was appointed to build a ferry between Dartmouth. His will was executed Nov. 11, 1694 recorded in Bristol County Registry. Probate I,139. He was a Baptist Minister in Dartmouth, a Deacon in Plymouth,Mass 1634 to 1651.
