a. Note:   Grandma Lois Brooks has Raymond's birthdate being 1887. According to World War I draft card, his birthdate is 1888. It's hard to read, but it also looks like he was born in Sumner County, Kansas. Grandma did not have a birthplace listed for Raymond. Raymond had brown eyes and dark brown hair.
  BROOKS, Raymond P., born 21-07-1887, Kansas, died 02-10-1975, buried Kane cemetery. Raymond P Brooks, 88, died Oct. 2 at Garnet�s Chateau where he had resided for 8 years. Visitation and services were held at Jacoby Brothers funeral home in Jerseyville. Rev Everett Chambers officiated and burial was in Kane cemetery. A farmer, he was born July 21, 1887 in Kansas, a son of Amos & Ida (Woolsey) Brooks. Surviving are 3 sons, Everett of Los Angeles, CA, Clarence of Springfield and Howard of Kemper; 2 daughters, Mrs. Pearl (Minta) Gross of Medora and Vivian Jackson of Jerseyville; 16 grandchildren; 1 g-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 1 son, 2 daughters and 1 sister. Memorials may be given to the heart fund.
