Notes
a. Note:   FROM AN UNKNOWN FORT SUMNER, NEW MEXICO AREA NEWSPAPER, APRIL,1933: MRS. MARY L. BLACKWOOD
Mrs. Mary Letitia Allen Blackwood, mother of Mrs. J. C. Dunlap, passed away last Saturday evening [April 1, 1933] about 7:30 o’clock after an illness of several months.
Mrs. Blackwood was born in Cedar county, Missouri, later moving with her parents to Wright county, where, at the age of 17 she was united in marriage with John Blackwood, who departed this life in 1924, and to this union were born ten children, five sons and five daughters, only four of them surviving their mother. The two sons: Jesse Blackwood of Sayre, Oklahoma, and Clyde Blackwood of Dallas, Texas, and two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Mount of San Diego, California, and Mrs. J. C. Dunlap of this city, were all at the bedside when she passed away.
Mrs. Blackwood was a devout member of the Methodist church with which she united when only 13 years of age, ever since being a regular and consistent attendant.
The funeral services were conducted by Revs. Turner and Barker from the Federated church and interment made in the local cemetery, Sunday afternoon.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved families by a wide circle of friends and neighbors, who also mourn with them in the death of this fine old mother.
  CARD OF THANKS
We desire to express our gratitude and appreciation to those who so faithfully contributed to the care and comfort of our dear mother during her late illness and death, also for the many beautiful floral offerings.
MRS. ROSA N. DUNLAP, MRS. MYRTLE MOUNT, JESSE E. BLACKWOOD, CLYDE C. BLACKWOOD.
