a. Continued:   Joseph S. McKee's daughter, Sarah S. Mckee Whited Myers Rice, states in an 1895 affidavit included in her father's pension file,"I know that Joseph McKee's former wife [Naomi Renfro Allen McKee] died on or about the 28th day of October 1885, for I was present when she died and was at the burial," signed S. S. Myers. The affidavit does not mention the location of Naomi's death but it's assumed for now that Naomi most likely would have passed away at or near her residence in the Kings Mills, Sharp County, Arkansas area, and would have been interred in that area as well. (Kings Mills is no longer extant.) This is also supported by the fact that Sarah was a resident of Sharp County at the time. Further research still required.
  Also, from Susan Hinds Renneker McKee's Declaration for Widow's Pension, dated September 15, 1893: "Both myself and Soldier [Joseph S. McKee] were formerly married, and both marriages were disolved by death," signed Susan McKee. Joseph and Susan were married in 1888.
  CEMETERIES IN THE KINGS MILLS AREA: The Liberty Hill Cemetery Shiloh Cemetery Center Cemetery Spotts Cemetery Buchannan Cemetery Turkey Pen Cemetery, Ash Flat Cemetery Wiles Cemetery Higland Cemetery Hickory Grove (Old Baptist Cemetery) [I've looked through all the surveys, some partial and some complete, on the RootsWeb Sharp Co. Cemeteries page with no luck so far. It would not be uncommon, however, for some graves from that era to be unmarked. Further research required.]
