Note: From THE SAYRE DAILY HEADLIGHT JOURNAL, Sept. 23, 1941: Norma Jean Blackwood, eight-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Blackwood, died at her home east of Sayre shortly after 5:30 a. m. this morning following a three and one-half months serious illness. Norma Jean would have been a third grade student this year had not her illness prevented her from entering school. She was born September 20, 1933. She was a member of the Methodist church and was prominent in all Sunday school activities. Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 p. m., at the Methodist church with Rev. Paul Hively and Rev. J. L. Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Sayre-Doxey cemetery by the Hullum-Wells Funeral Home. Norma Jean is survived by her parents, two brothers, Noel of Los Angeles and Earl and one sister, Betty June. Mr. and Mrs. Blackwood are prominent county residents and operate the Blackwood Dairy here.
