Note: Photo Her is the intention to marry details. 8 January 1972 Barnaud (sic) GILMORE 26 Carpenter 6 months at present address The Spit Napier Anna HOLDEN 27 Widow 6months at present address The Spit Napier Certificate sent to the Residence of Rev Father Reignier, Meanee , Napier Ann came to NZ with her husband James Beard and that they were married in England. They had three children and she walked out taking two young daughters with her but leaving a son we has not been able to find a divorce but she had waited the required 7 years after separation before marrying again in 1878. Her intention to marry under the name Anna Holden George Henry started this search as he was the son left behind and Jean Stanley continued it on and only found Ann Tinker by mistake as they were looking in Australia. I gather this was after over 20 years of looking. Ann obviously did not want to be found and must have made the intention to marry about a year after separating from her husband.and put her name down as Anna Holden widow to prevent people finding her . In the marriage indexes it was found she married in 1878 as Hannah Tinker a spinster. ( no mention of Holden or Beard) I also checked for a Holden marriage and found that none existed but there was a Holden marriage in the area. We are confident that Ann Tinker / Beard / Holden are all the same person. The index has her marriage down as taking place in 1878 as Hannah Tinker. Several children were born before this date starting with Catherine in 1872 Ann Tinker's baptism which gives the births of the children. George Allen born 18 Sept.1834 Mary Ann born 13 Jan. 1836 David born 23 Nov.1837 All Bp 19 Sept. 1839 at Mill Top Hepworth. Mother Hannah father George a clothier. I have recently been in contact with a wonderful lady in UK who is researching the Firth Family and she has a copy of Samuel Firths will. Which leaveshis property to Mary Ann and also to Ada Mildred and Charlotte who is states are his children. It appears that these 2 children werent the off spring of Gilmore as we all thought. One of which ADA is my gt gt Grandmother
