Note: My grandmother. Need everything including marriage info, middle name During the Tour of the Old Goat (Mar 27 through May 13, 2007) I discovered several sources that confirm that Grandma Schultz' maiden name was Novy not Nova. The evidence is my father's birth and baptismal certificate, his Navy "assignment of Beneficiaries" form as well as notations on several photograps.

Note: (Research):According to the 1900 US Census Birthday 1/3/1884 (she was 16 at time of the census) She is not in school and works as a "tailoress" This birth year conflicts with the date(1/3/1883) in the handwritten note written by Frances Schultz Ackley. I will go with the Census date because it was probably given by her mother, Katherine or father, William. 11/9/1044 - Dad named his mother, Mary Novy Schultz, as his secondary beneficiary (after wife & child) of his Navy benefits. At that time, she lived at 4149 W. Grenshaw St., Chicago, IL. We also know that dad's brother Henry lived there at that time. In a letter dated 8 Mar 1941, Ed identified his mother's address as 4149 W Grenshaw St, Chicago, IL. His father William is not mentioned.

Note: Mary (at age 16) was living with her parents (Joseph & Katherine Novy) in the 1900 US Census for Chicago, Cook Cty, IL. In the 1910 census, she is living with her husband to whom she had been married for 4 years (abt 1906). Also in the home is daughter Elsie (named after her sister?) and son Henry (namesake unk).
