 According to the 1900 census:
 Katherine immigrated to the US in 1880, but is not listed as having been naturalized.
 She is listed as the mother of 12 children, 7 of whom were still living on 6/1/1900.
 There are four children in the home at this time implying that three others are out on their own (married or single)
 Her mother lives in the home and is listed as Barbora Kratka ; therefore, Kathrine's maiden name is probably Kratka
  5/7/2008 - Visit to the Bohemian National Cemetery.
 Found the grave of Katerina and Elsie Novy. They apparently share a grave. The marker gives Katerina's year of birth as 1851 (vs the year of 1853 in the 1900 census) and her year of death as 1942. The marker also includes the name of Elsie Novy with a YOB as 1896 and YOD as 1958. Katerina's name is preceeded by the Czech word MATKA (mother) and Elsie's by DCERA (daughter.)
