a. Note:   A DOUBLE WEDDING A double wedding took place at 5 o'clock last Thursday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gross, in Lima, when their two daughters were married. The contracting parties were Miss Amanda Gross and Mr. Clarence Eschelbach, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Eschelbach, of Grass Lake township, and Miss Bertha Gross and Mr. Leigh M. Luick, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. D. Luick, of Lima, Rev. A. A. Schoen, pastor of St. Paul's church, performing the ceremony. The wedding march was played by Miss Beulah Luick, sister of Mr. Luick, and there were about thirty-five guests present. The brides were gowned in blue travelling suits. A wedding supper was served following the ceremony, after which the young couples left for a short trip. Mrs. Adolph Gross gave a miscellaneous shower at her home last Saturday evening in honor of the young couples. On Wednesday evening of this week the young people were guests of honor at a shower given by Mrs. Herbert Rank at her home near Francisco. Mr. and Mrs. Luick will make their home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. D. Luick. Mr. and Mrs. Eschelbach will reside on the farm in Grass Lake township with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas.   Amanda worked for Dr. Arnold Stager prior to 1918. In 1920 Amanda and Clarence lived on the Maute Road Farm (1920 census) where Dean was born in 1922. Clarence and Amanda worked on a farm on Freer Road in Chelsea from about 1923/24 to 1926. In 1926, they purchased the farm at 12443 E. Michigan Ave. Grass Lake, Michigan
