Cocalico Twp, Lancaster Co, PA Communicant at Allegheny Lutheran and Reformed Church in Brecknock Twp, Berks Co, PA on 3/25/1856. Mrs. Sophia Trostel confirmed on 11/4/1856, at Allegheny, per Hinke. 1860 census shows Sophia Trostle(29), Susanna(4), and Henry(10/12) as a widow in Reamstown, Brecknock Twp, Lancaster Co, PA. Spelling of Geigley and Trostel provided by Woody Trostel, from Montgomery's "History of Berks County". In 1867, petitioned for guardianship of the three children. 1870 census enumerates her with husband, Samuel Burkhart. 1880 census enumerates her with husband, Samuel Burkhart. 1900 census shows the widow Sophia(69) and son Samuel(27) in Brecknock Twp, Lancaster Co, PA. 1910 census shows the widow Sophia(74) and son Samuel(36) in Shillington, Berks Co, PA. 1920 census shows Sophia(88) living with her son-in-law Henry Matz on Philadelphia Ave, Shillington, Berks Co, PA. 8/18/1922 death notice in the Ephrata Review names her parents as William and Mary(nee Weiss) Geigley.
