a. Note:   Robert and his brother John went out to Oklahoma before the Cherokee strip rush and staked out land. They participated in the Cherokee strip rush and lived with the Indians. John stayed in Oklahoma and lived ear the Arpaho Indian reservation. Robert lived in the Oklahoma panhandle near Enid, Oklahoma with his daughter Ruby. Robert moved back to Indiana near current Fort Harrision where he lived prior to going to Oklahoma. Ruby stayed in Oklahoma were she died. He is buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana, Section: 224, Lot: 445. Robert Hamilton Acre was a state representative from Marion County, Indiana.
