 Hugh married Ruth Antoinette Guillemard on 21st of October 1920, at St. Columba's Episcapal Church, Nairn, according to the Forms of the Episcapal Church of Scotland. His marriage certificate describes him as, Hugh Rose of Kilravock, Lieutentant Colonel (retired), Batchelor, aged 57 years, usual residence, Kilravock Castle, Gollanfield. Parents: James Rose, Major (Indian Army), deceased and Anna Maria Tremlow, deceased. Married by Arthur F. Pope, Late Vicar of Tring, assisted by E.F.Gillan, and the rector of St. Columba's Nairn.  Vicar Arthur Fredrick Pope was the brother-in-law of Hugh, married to Catherine Isabella Ellen Rose, who was also a witness.
