a. Note:   Travelled to Australia on board 'WANDRAHM', leaving Hamburg, Germany abt. 21 April, 1854 arriving in Port Adelaide on August 1854. Martin stayed in South Australia, around the Tothill Belt and the Barossa for about 14 years before moving to Jindera in New South Wales Australia, Australianear Albury, he was here for 13 years prior to his death. I know from Newspaper reports that he had a least 3 children - Henry, August and Mary. His death certificate transcript states that he had 1 male deceased. I do not know what happened to his wife, Maria (at this stage anyway............. [1 Nov 1999]. I do know from his death certificate and the BORDER POST newspaper 1880-1881 of how he and his daughter MARY, were callously killed by HENRY WILKINSON alias JAMES BURT. Mary was also shot in the same incident but died 10 days later. A full transcript of the reports in "The Border Post - Albury New South Wales Australia" will be included in any print of the family tree.
