a. Note:   Tailoress, 1851 Jane was at Savona Ferry in 1874 First Victoria Directory. ----------------------------- At time of Jane's 1882 marriage to James she had been living with him at Hope, Clinton, and Savonas Ferry for some years and raised their five children. She was a Methodist.

Note:   James, along with Richard Curnow purchased Lot 39 on the east side of the Cariboo Road in Clinton for $200 in October of 1863. Whether this was the hotel property or for their home is not known, but evidence favours the assumption of it being for a home.
