Note: Information here on this family and their descendants was submitted along with her query to Rootweb's Preston Co WV on 4 July 1999 by Pattie Collins Williams (patanco@hotmail.com) who wrote that both John and Mary were born in 1741 and died in 1813, and that their children listed were not necessarily given in their birth order. Janice Cale Sisler responded to Pattie's query and explained: "The John Collins you asked about, according to a Monongalia Chronicle (I don't have the date in front of
me) came from Hampshire Co, VA to Monongalia. His land in Hampshire is said to have been sold in 1795 by John Jr. who stated that he had inherited it."
