Note: ame from. There are several theories about her identity. No one has proven where Thomas Durham came from, although he is believed to be about the same age as a Thomas Durham born at Port Royal, Bermuda (born 1661, the son of Henry and Judith Hunt Durham; her father was the governor there and Henry later became the governor). There is considerable doubt that they were the same person, since there are references to the Bermuda Thomas as still being in Bermuda some years later. Thomas and Dorothy were in North Farnham Parish in what is now Richmond County, VA by 1686, when their daughter, Mary Durham Dodson, was born. Richmond County is part of the four-county area known as the Northern Neck of Virginia, bounded on the north by the Potomac River, on the south by the Rappahannock River, and on the east by Chesapeake Bay.
