John CALEF: Birth: BEF 29 DEC 1754.
Title: Robert Calef of Boston, and some descendants, 1940
Author: Boardman, Anne Calef
Note: Ann Calef Boardman, p.34 "King, named for his mother's family, was a cordwainer. Soon after his marriage he moved with his parents to Chester, N.H., where he was living in 1741. There he built a two-story house, on land eventually the home of Benjamin Chase, the historian of Chester. King may, later, have taken his family back to Massachusetts, settling near his wife's people. Eunice Allen's grandfather bore the resounding name of Onesiphorus, which should help to trace this elusive family. The records are scant, but so far as they can be gathered or guessed, there were four children. The son Allen was living in Northport in 1798, a farmer presumably, owning 150 acres. Records gathered by descendants of Martha Calef Ring seem to substantiate her connection."
