(The fourth Saturday was May 23, 1868.) ..." Bro. William Crodkett of this church presented a petition for the purpose of going into a constitution at the Beech Bottom meeting house with the following names ... "The result of this meeting was that letters were granted to the petitioning members to constiture the Beech Bottom United Baptist Church. The names of those members who were dismissed at this time were:" ... The names include Alvin Bertram and his sister, Jane Bertram. This proves she did not marry Elijah Brown until sometime after May 23, 1868 or she would have been listed as Jane Brown.
