Baty from the microfilm available at TSLA, register of Deeds, Fentress County, Vol. E-G, roll #8) -- This indenture made the 28th of February 1847 by and between John B. Rodgers of the county of WHITE and state of Tennessee of the one part and John Beaty snr of the county of Fentress and state aforesaid of the second part. Witnesseth that the sd John B. Rodgers for an in consideration of the Natural love and Esteem which the sd John B. Rodgers bares to wards the sd John Beaty sr hath this day given granted and confirmed and by these presents do give and confirm unto the sd John Beaty sr?? his heirs or assigns a certain parcel of land situated in Fentress county and State of Tennessee on the Waters of Obids River bounded as follows to wit beginning at a steak situated on the East boundary line of the Thomas Beaty track thence running South 20 Dgs east with Beatys old line 121 poles to Beech a corner of sd tract thence south 55 Dgs East with sd John Beatys old line 128 poles to a beech George Beatys corner thence south 79 dgs West 70 poles more or less with George Beatys line to where the same intersects the Mc Ivers line thence westwardly with the McIvers line 90 poles to the beginning corner of the Thomas Beaty tract a whiteoak thence North with the old line of the Thomas Beaty tract to the beginning containing thirty five acres more or less to the sd John Beaty his heirs or assigns forever to have and to hold the said land premises with the appurtenances there unto belonging or anywise appertaining to him the sd John Beaty cen his heirs or assigns forever and the said John B. Rodgers warrants to defend the title of the above described parcel of land against himself his heirs or any other claim or claims whateve in testimony there of I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my privet seal in presence of the date above J.
