According to Walter Webb, who spent years researching the Beaty Line, James Flemming Beaty and his wife Matilda Clementine Beaty had no children of their own. They took in a young girl named "Tine" Jaynes (her name was Matilda Clementine Jaynes) and raised her as their own child. She married Robert (Bob) Beaty son of Marion Bates Beaty.
