Peter was a gunsmith. The family was Mormon. He had a shop located in a rock outcropping above the town. It is still there. The town is Monticello, Kentucky. He began making guns during the Civil War and continued after it was over. Death Certificate of daughter, Nancy, says that Peter was born in Kentucky and has his last name spelled Adkison. The census record above seems to confirm that Tennessee is correct.
