"State of Tennessee Fentress County on this the 14th day of October 1857 personally appeared before me Solomon Albertson a Justice of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid Enniss Doss aged 33 years and Sally Doss aged 27 years, they aare citizens of Fentress County Tennessee. They are childre of William Doss Deceased and Nancy Doss his widow. They are entitled to full credit and being first duly sworn on their oaths, make the following affidavit to wit. Affidavit states that their father William Doss died in Fentress County Tennessee on the 15th day of September 1853, that he was a pensioner under the act of 7th June 1832, and died leaving nancy Doss his widow who is still his his widow and is the mother of affiants, that affiants are now at the residence of the widow of William Doss at the time of his death and over months. nancy Doss is still his widow and is present with affiants to day at said place. Sworn to and Subscribed to -- Enniss (his mark) Doss, the 14th day of October 1857 before me, Solomon Albertson, J.P."
