a. Note:   yhill Varner, 91, of Belgrove Road, Tobaccoville and formerly Denton, died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at her home. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Briggs Funeral Home, Denton, with the Rev. Sandy Young officiating. Burial will follow in Clear Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery. She was a native of Bon Weir, Texas, a homemaker and a former member of Clear Springs United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Clay Varner. Surviving are son, W. Keith Varner of Stanleyville; daughters, Pam Clifton of Tobaccoville and Carolyn Ring of Pfafftown; brother, Hubert Rayhill of Lexington; sister, Bessie Stafford of Asheboro; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. The family will be at the funeral home 12:30-2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Forsyth County, 1100-C South Stratford Road, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27103.
