Note: Footprints said he was son of Joe Yates. Peggy Riley -- [email protected] -- There is a story in my family that my Grandmother Martha Adkins (Atkins, Adkinson, etc) Yates named her first born for the doctor who delivered him. Apparently it was a difficult delivery. While reviewing some death certificates I found that "Dr. Kirkland" had been the attending physician. If he was still practicing in 1916, then I suspect he was involved in the delivery. My uncle went by Kirklin or Kirkland. I'm curious about where the "Willard" came in. I was expecting the doctor's name to be "Willard Kirkland".
