Obituary in The Overton County News 21 Jan 2009 and Fentress Courier 21 Jan 2009 -- Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Blanche (Amonette) Holsapple Baum, 80, of Monroe, were conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2009 from the chapel of Brown Funeral Home in Byrdstown, with Bishop Rick Medrano officiating. Burial was in the Amonette Cemetery. Mrs. Baum died Thursday, January 8, 2009 at the Livingston Regional Hospital. She had been a home health caregiver, and was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints in Jamestown. She lived most of her life in Huntersville, KY. Born November 1, 1928 in Pickett County, she was the daughter of the late Oren Cullen and Eula Grace (Jones) Amonette. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 husbands, Bennie Holsapple and Adolph Baum; a daughter, Barbara Vanbarriga; 2 sisters, Nell Cross and Marie Boles; and 2 brothers, Philip Amonette, and Harry Amonette. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Norma Faye and Rodney Dempsey of Monroe; 3 sons and a daughter-in-law, Darwin and Ann Holsapple of Albany, KY, Danny Holsapple of Charleston, SC, and Welby Holsapple of Ladson, SC; 3 sisters and 2 brothers-in-law, Carolyn Mitchell of Byrdstown, Patricia and Mike Michalek of West Bloomfield, MI, and Linda and Pat Sheets of Sevierville, TN; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred and Doris Amonette of Livingston, Joe and Lynne Amonette, and Eugene and Roxie Amonette, all of Byrdstown; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Pallbearers were Danny Holsapple, Welby Holsapple, Darwin Holsapple, Christopher Carter, Ashton Harvey; Rhyan Branson, Mitchell Rhea, and Rodney Dempsey, Junior Special care provided by Brown Funeral Home.
