Note: n, 87, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013 from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home, with Bro. Howard Scroggins officiating. Burial was in Dugan-Smith Cemetery. Mr. Simpson died Thursday, May 2, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Falling Springs Church. Born January 15, 1926 in Jamestown, TN, he was the son of the late James and Julie (Cooper) Simpson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hillie (Cravens) Simpson; a son, Lonnie Simpson; 5 brothers, Ed Simpson, Wesley Simpson, Charles Simpson, Jr., Archie Simpson, and Edna Simpson; 5 sisters, Alma Cravens, Elvie Simpson, Dovie Simpson, Esther Turner, and Delia York; a granddaughter, Julie Leann Cooper; a grandson, Steve Paul Murphy; and 2 great-grandsons, Noah Simpson and Michael Brock Simpson. Survivors include 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Lester and Jeannie Simpson of Alpine; Jack and Cindy Simpson, and Jim Simpson, all of Livingston; 4 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Flonnie and Ronald Cooper of Alpine, Brenda and Joe Cooper, Treva Norris, and Linda King, all of Livingston; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and a special niece, Phyllis Simpson. Pallbearers were Jim Simpson, Jack Simpson, Josh Simpson, Roger Neal, Coby Simpson, Dale Norris, and Darryl Norris. Special care provided Hall Funeral Home.
