a. Note:   erwood Ford Community, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center. Mr. Slaven was born May 25, 1933 in Fentress County, Tennessee. He was a carpenter/construction worker. Mr. Slaven is survived by five sons, Ricky Slaven and Adam Slaven both of Jamestown, Ronnie Slaven of Sale Creek, TN, Lynn Slaven of Graysville, TN and John Slaven of Dayton, TN; two daughters, Lisa Wilson of Graysville, TN and Gloria Blevens of Dunlap, TN; three nieces; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Elzadia Slaven of Jamestown; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Slaven was preceded in death by wife, Lobedia (Batt) Slaven; father, Arthur Lee Slaven; mother, Lula Lovell (Holt) Slaven; two brothers, Shirley Slaven and Melvin Slaven; and two sisters, Wilma Smith and Mary Helen Slaven. Funeral services were held Sunday, May 22, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Chambers officiating. Burial followed in the Katie Blevins Cemetery in Scott County, TN. Pallbearers included John Henry Cooper, Lawton Hammond, Jeff Slaven, Mark Slaven, Bobby Smith, Rodney Abbott, Jesse Hicks, Chris Gunter and John Slaven. Jennings Funeral Home of Jamestown, Tennessee was in charge of services.
