Note: . Blair, Sr., 69 of Allardt, passed away suddenly Sunday night at his home in Allardt as the result of an apparent heart attack. Blair, a general contractor who preferred to be called a carpenter, was a veteran of World War II, and was very active in the local business community, as owner-operatior of Blair & Blair Contractors and as a member of the Progressive Saving Bank board of Direcotrs. He also served a term as Mayor of allardt, and had served for many years as a member of the Fentress County Election Commission. Always very active in civic affairs, he was a member of the Jamestown Jaycees, and served in several offices of that organization and later in the Jamestown Rotary Club, which he joined in 1962, and was a member at the time of his death. He served three times as President of the Rotary Club, and during his first term as president, in October, 1968, was instrumental in establishing the first Rotary Scholarship Fund. He also served terms as president of the club in 1981-82 and 1982-83. He was the club's first Paul harris Fellow, and at the time of his death was the oldest member of the Jamestownw Rotary Club in both age and time of service.
