Manis, 71, of Byrdstown, died Friday, May 24, 2013 at Pickett County Care & Rehabilitation Center. The family has chosen cremation and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Born April 27, 1942 in Pickett County, he was the son of the late George Carlos and Pauline (Flowers) Manis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Margie Blankenship, Evidean Means, and Louraine Reece; 7 brothers, Ray Manis, Lynn Manis, Gary Flowers, Earl Manis, Doug Manis, Dale Manis, and Harold Manis. Survivors include a daughter, Karen Manis of Livingston; 3 sisters, Glee Holman and Barbara Smithers, both of Byrdstown, and Carolyn Allen of White House, TN; and a grandson, Sawyer Young; and 2 step-sons, Darrell Patterson and Mike Butler, both of Florida.
