Marge & Bernie were murdered on May 10, 1988 by their son, Richard B. Calkins. He shot them and then transported in their station wagon to the mountains and dumped them over the side of a cliff. The police found them on May 18, 1988.
Richard is still in jail awaiting the decision of the psychriatrists to see if he is mentally competent to stand trial. I sure hope so, because I sure wouldn't want him to walk the streets again. I hope he gets the death penalty.
Update: Oct 26, 1996 - Richard died 29 Oct 1994 in the state hospital at San Bernardino, CA. Neither his children, his remaining family or ex-spouses wanted to claim the body for burial. His remains whereabouts are not known.
