Notes
a. Note:   !ORIG: Name from marriage license. !SEARCH: Grace says her parents were wealthy Catholics. Have looked for marriage notice in B'ham papers. Look for death record. I may have already done this so look back thru my notes. Story is that Ed abandoned her & she committed suicide. That's why Leona was sent away.
I have copy of 1901 B'ham City Dir., p. 428, that lists a Miss Annie Ross who works at Martin Cracker Co. Is this our Annie Ross? Also listed is Miss Ada Ross who also works at Martin Cracker. No address is given for either. Probably sisters. Check 1900 census to find family with these two in it. Only a dozen Ross entries in dir. Looked thru the 1900 Soundex for B'ham, T-1030, R-200. Only one that looked promising was Ann Ross, b. June 1878, husband Wm. D. Ross, living Lauderdale.
Thinking Annie Ross may have remarried if she divorced Ed rather than commited suicide, checked Jeff. Co. Marriage(?) books: vol. D June 1900-Apr 1905; vol E Apr '05-Feb'08; F; G; H; I; J. No Annie Cole in any of those. No Ross in H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, which goes thru '27.
!DEATH: "Some Inscriptions from Ala. Cem.", vol 3a & 3b, at Linn-Henley, B'ham.. Looked for Annie Cole or Ross. Nothing found.
